One of my goals this year was to prioritize my relationship with myself. I feel like I have been feeling less myself with work becoming busy and schoolwork piling up, so I’m realizing that this is something that I really need to be intentional about. To prevent any perfectionist and all-or-nothing tendencies to come up, here are some of the ways I am prioritizing myself this year:
Daily things to do:
- lights off between 9:30 to 10pm every day
Weekly things to do:
- playing some music a few times a week
- answering at least one of these Onsite prompts every week
- exercise at least 3 times a week
Monthly things to do:
- going to a coffee shop to read a few times a month
And thus speaking of Onsite prompts, I signed up to receive prompts to get to know myself better this year. I will be trying my best to post these prompts on here. The first prompt is: Perform a self-check-in and identify your current emotions. Give them a name. How are they showing up? What effect are they having on your body? On your demeanor?
Currently, I feel content with where I am in life and my career. At the same time, I feel a bit stressed with my job, as since I have had to take on a pretty big additional role, it feels like I emotionally can’t breathe much. Additionally, I have been feeling annoyed and frustrated since beginning to have some health issues towards the end of 2022, and not knowing the cause of it but only doing symptom management. It’s nothing life-threatening, but it is certainly drastically decreasing my quality of life as the days pass. It’s possible that the stress from my job and school is showing up as this health problem of mine. I feel like overall, it is making me feel more hurried and irritable than I would like to be. I’m still trying to figure out why this health problem suddenly showed up, but as I do that, I strongly believe that sleeping earlier and exercising more can help a lot.
