The day started off rainy – with lightning and thunderstorms ! The beautiful thing about rain is that it brings out the contrast of all the colors everywhere:

Oh also a random thing is that I got sunflowers for our Airbnb yesterday! For some reason, so many people had flowers in the MRT yesterday, so it made me want to get some, too. I found a vase in the Airbnb, and put sunflowers in it:

As it was Easter, we wanted to visit a church, and I looked up an English-speaking one in Taipei (which took us around 30 minutes to find…). After church, we went to try and find Jacob a hat, but we ended up having a mini shopping spree.
This is one of the food court of the malls we visited in the vicinity of Taipei 101 (all the malls there are called “A#”… for example, “A11” or “A13”):

At the end of the day, however, Jacob ended up grabbing something from Uniqlo, and I finally bought a pair of Birkenstocks. I had looked into Birkenstocks a while ago, but ended up going with a barefoot sandal, which I really like, but in terms of walking long distances, it was making my feet so tired. Luckily, there was a Birkenstocks shop in the area so I grabbed a pair ! :

For our very late lunch (3:00 pm ish), we went to Hai di lao hot pot ! It was very yummy – Jacob got a spicy beef tallow broth and I got a mushroom broth:

Some other things ordered – quail eggs ! :

A very yummy mango pomelo. It was too cold for me so I ended up drinking it about an hour after we had already left Hai di lao:

It was Jacob’s idea to order this rice cake with this sweet orange syrup. It was SO yummy !! :

The mostly complete hot spot spread – Jacob’s very first hot pot ! :

After hot pot, we visited a lego store ! Their creations were quite impressive (a lego mural, a giant lego boba cup, and lego version of a local monument):

And finally, some more photos featuring Taipei 101 taken today:
