For breakfast this morning, we decided to buy some breakfast ingredients at the local store – eggs and sausages. I still got some man tou though – there’s a local place that sells vegetarian ones ! So I got a green onion one and a red bean paste one – super yummy as expected:

Jacob was the one cooking breakfast this morning:

The goal of today was to visit my mother’s memorial site. The first step of that was getting a bouquet of white flowers. I didn’t get photos of the bouquet, but the Ximending area seemed to have a lot of florists, so I stopped by one there. This lady was very helpful in letting me select various flowers to make a bouquet out of. The whole thing cost $250 NT for a customized bouquet of flowers. We then took an uber from Ximending to the Taoyuan district, which is about a 40 minute drive. The memorial site is kind of out of the way, into the mountains. I don’t exactly remember where my mom was buried, as the burial she had was simply planting her ashes, however, I do remember which patch of grass. So I left the flower bouquet there, and Jacob sort of aided me along in things I would have liked to share with her. I did not get photos of that area out of respect for her, but I have a photo of the main entrance of the memorial site area, as well as some flowers I picked around the area to remind me of her:

We then headed back to Ximending for lunch. I got this ramen dish which was okay… Ximending is a high-traffic tourist-y area, so compared to usual NTD currency prices, they are higher and the food isn’t that much more amazing. In any case, here is part of what we got (Jacob got some meat which I forgot to take photos of):

After lunch, I picked up this herbal jelly red bean soup ! I really shouldn’t have gotten it as I was not hungry, but I wanted some dessert:

We then walked around Ximending a bit more before heading back to the Airbnb. Here are some other shots around that area:
