“O God, help us to believe the truth about ourselves, no matter how beautiful it may be”

Getting to know myself – prompt 13

Getting to know myself – prompt 13

Today’s prompt from Onsite is: “After considering these traps from your point of view, think of how others may experience them as well. How might this shift your perspective on the actions of others? Have you had difficulty with others that may have been linked to their falling into one of these traps?”

To recap, these are the “traps” that I’ve reflected on:

  • denial
  • judgement
  • blame
  • comparison
  • fear

This is quite an eye-opening reminder of often why conflict occurs, those of my own life included. It’s a good reminder that a lot of pain is inflicted with roots in one of these traps from anybody. I have definitely had difficulty with others that may have been linked to their falling into one of these traps, as well as myself falling into another one of these traps at the same time. I would even add shame to the list, even though it wasn’t in one of the prompts lately, although I might have talked about it in one of my responses.
