“O God, help us to believe the truth about ourselves, no matter how beautiful it may be”

Getting to know myself – prompt 22

Getting to know myself – prompt 22
This post’s Onsite question has to do with circles of community. Since I don’t have a way to show this without scanning or taking a photo of something, I am just going to describe my circles of community here.

My inner circle has to do with my husband, close friends, and my therapist. Most all know deeply about the things I go through and have all shown and proven themselves to be safe people.

My 2nd circle includes some good friends of mine and family members. I have more notable boundaries with these people, but at the same time, I frequently do let these people in my life.

My 3rd circle also includes some family members and more boundaries are evident because of needing to still interact with them from time to time. This third circle also includes people like acquaintances at church, classmates, and coworkers.

My 4th circle is mainly strangers and/or people that I may come into contact in my life but have not earned my trust.

Anyways, this was insightful to reflect on – I’ll have to see what questions come up from Onsite as I continue to reflect on this.
