“O God, help us to believe the truth about ourselves, no matter how beautiful it may be”

Getting to know myself – prompt 25

Getting to know myself – prompt 25

Today’s question from Onsite is :”Why do you feel your relationships in your outer circles fell where they did? Are they because they are more acquaintance-level relationships, or are there some that are there because of necessary boundaries?”

This question answers itself ! Yes, the people in my outer circles are there because of acquaintance-level relationships and people that I need to set boundaries with. In fact, in my original circles of community post (“Getting to know myself prompt 22”), I explain that the people in my 3rd circle are there because of family members that I need to place boundaries with, as well as people I don’t know as well from church, school, and work. Honestly, it feels sad to have certain family members there. However, I think to maintain integrity for myself and for interacting with them and treating them likewise, it feels necessary to grieve the reality that they are in those circles for this time in my life.

This then brings me to my most outer circle, the 4th circle, which is mainly strangers and/or people in my life that I have come into contact with but don’t have much of a relationship with.
