Today’s question from Onsite is “How does your sense of loneliness vs. intimacy align with the number of connections you have in your life?”
I thought a bit on how to answer this question, and so my response may sound like an indirect one. I have very few relationships but they feel rich and deep. They are also relationships that are highly reciprocal and intentional. Even though the points of contacts between the people in these relationships is not constant nor frequent, the depth is always there and so I don’t feel that lonely thanks to the levels of intimacy of my relationships.
Something I feel lonely in is mainly in my hobbies – language learning and music. Granted, because of my schedule most of the time, it is difficult to even carry out those hobbies on my own. I’m hoping once I am finally done with schooling, I will be able to indulge and invest more in these and then be a part of certain communities that share common interests.
