“O God, help us to believe the truth about ourselves, no matter how beautiful it may be”

Getting to know myself – prompt 40

Getting to know myself – prompt 40

I haven’t done one of these in a minute ! Today’s question from Onsite is: “What were you like as a child? What hopes and dreams did you have? What qualities did you have? How would people have described you as a child?”

I remember being very loud, outgoing, and honestly rambunctious. I felt carefree outside of home, wore my heart on my sleeve, cared deeply about the things that interested me, was a good friend, wanted approval from my elders. I loved playing with my toys, and nowadays that sentiment has moved all onto JJ. For a long time, I remember wanting to be an architect like my two grandfathers, but also wanting to be able to sing and garden. I remember being proud of my heritage and wanting to move back to Taiwan one day for college and marriage. I think people would have described me as rambunctious – I remember many report cards saying that I was very talkative and that I needed to improve my class behavior/raise my hands when I spoke, but also there were teachers that saw a leadership quality in this.
