“O God, help us to believe the truth about ourselves, no matter how beautiful it may be”

Taiwan Days 1 & 2

Taiwan Days 1 & 2

I arrived in the evening on Friday, so obviously don’t have much photos to share from that first day, except mainly a secret note from my husband that I found in my luggage that was so sweet ! I have it on my desk in my AirBnb room:

For breakfast of my first full day, mainly due to fear of language barrier reasons, and because I was not feeling my greatest yet, I ordered via Uber and it was so cheap ! I ordered soymilk, toast with pineapple spread (which I have been unable to find in so many grocery stars sadly), plus this green onion wrap with egg and cheese:

I was deciding how to start my day, as I needed some water and NTD, and groceries as well, so was figuring out what order to do things in. I was dying of thirst, so I bought some sesame milk first at a star that had an ATM, went back to the AirBnb, and then went to buy some water and groceries. Last year when I came with Jacob, we were able to find gallon water bottles, but for some reason, I was having difficulty finding gallon ones, only 2-Liter (ish) ones. Here’s a photo from before I picked up some water today:

Also, this is my first time not being able to wear and thus bring make-up on a vacation trip. Granted, I am using eyebrow pencil. However, although I am in the clear for using other beauty products again since my rash, I don’t want to risk any more flare-ups, especially since I am far from home:

Around noon, jetlag was hitting me again, so I decided to lie down for a bit. After lying down, I ordered some yummy lunch – a salmon bento and a radish soup. I ended up tearing up a bit while eating this because I felt so grateful to be able to order such nostalgic, yummy Taiwanese food everywhere and at such an affordable rate (none of my meals go over $10 USD):

After lunch, I decided to walk around. I wanted to reach the river, so I headed towards that direction. I wanted to take some photos out initially they all came out blurry since the humidity kept fogging up my lens.

I first stopped by a place that was half tea house, half bookstore. It was quite quaint and by this really lush nature-y area:

Right across the street was the river and a walking path/bikeway:

After I reached the river park, I found out I was close to another park, so I wanted to check that place out a bit, but was getting thirsty and was running low on water. So I went to a 7-11 to get a yogurt drink, which I didn’t know had some toppings in it but it quenched my thirst enough. I then decided to walk back to the AirBnb via a different route, to see if I could find some coffee shops to visit during my stay. Here are the rest of my street photos from today:

Oh also some photos from that second park:

I ended the day with buying this super yummy red bean bread from a cute bakery:

I also reached my step count!:

Thanks for reading !
