First day of travelling & Dublin, Ireland

This trip was originally a round trip to and back from Paris for June 2020, but, as you can see by the year, that trip was cancelled and the airline, Aer Lingus, ended up giving me a voucher that lasted through May 2026. So my husband and I ended up doing a Europe trip for this late spring, with his brother joining us ! Since Aer Lingus was cheapest to fly into Dublin, we made Ireland our first stop (in total we would travel to 4 countries).

Our flight out of SFO was in the late afternoon, so we arrived early afternoon the next day in Dublin. The first thing we did when we finally set some luggage down was eat at a nearby restaurant:

After lunch, we finally were able to enter our AirBnb – which sadly I did not get many photos of, it was an older building and the interior looked cool). However, I did get some photos of the hallway and patio area:

We then did a walk around the city and also got groceries for the week afterwards – mainly breakfast ingredients and snacks. Here are some city shots I got:

We also appreciated the directions of where to look on the streets, as they drive on the left side of the road !:

This was also a significant landmark in the city, called The Spire (I attempted a panoramic shot of it with my phone to try to capture how tall it was… as best as I could):

I did not really know what to expect of Dublin to begin with. I knew it was an old city and you can definitely see that. However, it also just reminded me of any other big city, with its nicer parts and with its rougher parts. There honestly wasn’t much we were dying to see in the city, and so most of our Ireland travel actually was far from the city, which I will share more about next !
