For our last full day of Iceland, we went up one of the northern peninsulas above Reykjavik (away from the main Golden Circle route). Similar to our first adventure day, we drove the furthest site (3 hours away also), and slowly made our way back.
Something amazing about this day was that it was sunny ! So even though I had the chance to wear all my warm clothes properly, I got warm quickly.
Our first stop was another black sand beach:

This area also had such lovely flower-y areas. There were even flowers growing underneath this pond and they looked so dreamy:

Some other shots from the beach:

And by the first part of this beach, there were these rocks of four different sizes you could lift to test your strength:

Our next area was to see this big rock formations that were huge and also popular with birds. My favorite part of this area is that we got really up close to some baby sheep:

And then this next stop was not originally in our plans, but we passed by this basically large crevice in a rock, to find out that a river runs through it and it goes pretty deep:

Finally, our last sightseeing stop was the black church (pictured here as well the surrounding landscape):

We needed a rest stop and unfortunately this area was not part of the golden circle, there were not rest stops abounding. We ended up finding this really cute cafe though where we got some yummy pastries:

Also, to get from the city to this peninsula that was a bit more north, we had to go through this really long tunnel while going to our sites today and back (5.7k meters –> 3.5 miles !):

For dinner we did what we did during our last night in Bergen and bought some salmon to bake and eat ! :

And lastly, some other photos from the day:
